36 and 37 of 52.

You Are Special by Max Lucado

You've probably read Lucado's story about the Wemmicks. But, if you haven't I would recommend it! This book is one of my favorites. It's even better when read out loud to an eager audience. (The illustrations by Sergio Martinez are wonderful, too.)

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin

From the book's dedication:

For Jenny
who asked for a puzzle mystery

Raskin's book won the Newberry Medal in 1979. Somehow I missed reading it during my middle school years. It's a quick read--adventurous, humorous, and indeed puzzling. I always appreciate a story where the ending is obscured. This is an ending you won't be able to predict.

P.S. Catching up on this 52 in 52 challenge?
It all started here!
