not because i dont have a boyfriend but because it seems like everyone else does.
and when i seek out the single ladies to celebrate my independence with, they are happily attached to a man.
everyone who has someone says valentines day isnt so great.
well.
i say try not having someone and seeing how less great it can be.
(is this even making sense? what am i even saying?)
so. instead of feeling sorry for myself (which i already did), i decided to have my own lovely celebration of the day of love.
i am going to:
paint my nails pink.
watch this video again and wish i was in it.
perhaps go out and get one (read: several) of these.
rummage through the gift bag my parents sent me. (thank you!)make a few more homemade valentines like i use to when i was in kindergarten.
call the ones i love and tell them how much they mean to me.
and above all remembering that love looks like a bunch of different things. it is the compassion of a sister, the listening ear of a friend, the kindness of a mentor, the blood of a Savior.
since love grows within you, so beauty grows. for love is the beauty of the soul. - st. augustine
