Today is our brother, Isaac's, 21st birthday! Little Sister and I just love Isaac so much. He is funny, and wonderful, and sensitive, and mature, and occasionally goofy. If Isaac had a theme song for his life, it would be set to the music from the
Pink Panther, because he is just one Cool Cat.

Ok, but seriously. It really is so easy to like Isaac, and not just because he has always been such a charmer in the looks department (I know he must be grateful to have not one, but TWO older sisters to help him fend off all the girls). Isaac is a lot like our Dad. He is kind, quiet-natured, and would prefer to never argue with you unless absolutley necessary.

Isaac is also adventurous. He loves to try new things. He is always up for anything! I so admire this quality in him. In the last 21 years of his life, here are some adventures Isaac has tried: snow skiing, water skiing, snowboarding, riding a scooter, wake boarding, basketball, tennis, track, all kinds of Navy activities, rappelling, diving, painting, archery, camping, riflery, piano, photography, etc. etc. In our family we have always called Isaac a Renaissance Man because he has a natural talent for so many activities.

Isaac also readily cares for others. Like Little Sister, Isaac spent a few summers being pummeled against walls by overly active special needs children. Two summers ago Isaac joined the rest of our family on a ten day trip to Lima, Peru. It was such a privilege to watch Isaac serving the local community, and to see how much the children (especially those girls!) enjoyed being around him.

Little Sister and I have watched Isaac go through so many different stages of life. We've helped him get ready for prom. We've watched him graduate from high school. We've cheered him on during his long academic semesters at the Naval Academy. And, we've even had memorable trips with him in sunny California. We are incredibly proud of him! And, we are so excited to be cheering him on from the sidelines for all those stages still to come. Someday, I hope Little Sister and I can introduce ourselves to the love of his life and let her know what an incredible guy she is getting in our brother, Isaac. He is one-of-a-kind, and we are grateful for him!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Isaac! We love you!
