its beginning to look alot like christmas...

for the first time this entire semester, i thought it might snow today. in southern california.
cloudy haze covered the sky and the visibility was terrible.
excitedly i told my roommate that this is what clouds look like in maryland right before it snows.
being the native californian that she is, she just stared at me.

and then i stepped outside.

it is 92 degrees.
in november.

so to placate myself, i turned the thermostat in my room to 65 and bought 5 christmas albums on ruckus.
i then went in search of the farmer's almanc long-range weather forecast for the atlantic corridor.
looks like its going to be a cold one...
i can hardly wait to step off the plane at dulles on friday and see my breath in the air.

then i realized the haze out here is from the 5 or more fires that have been ravaging southern california over the weekend.
the la times said, "The Triangle Complex Fire, straddling county lines in north O.C., is the most active and threatens 3, 500 homes."

yesterday, i may or may not have gone chasing the brea and yorba linda fires with a friend.
what?!?!
like you have never wanted to?
i think being a storm chaser would be the most amazing job ever. we gave it a trial run yesterday. friend's aunt lives in yorba linda and we had to check to make sure the house was ok.
here is what we saw...family: except for a little black lung and red eyes, i am totally fine. i'll keep you posted.
see you all in less than a week!
