'Der You See Her...

"Look at this trove, treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?" -Ariel, The Little Mermaid

My Mom, and one of her close girlfriends, came into town this weekend for a short visit. We packed a shameless amount of activity into 24 hours, starting with a delicious Italian dinner at Becco's restaurant. After dinner we walked to the famous TKTS booth at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, and debated which Broadway show to see. Oh, the choices! At last we narrowed our options down to Legally Blonde, Hairspray, and The Little Mermaid. The latter won out by a narrow margin.

Our tickets in hand, we walked to the theater and were greeted by a host of seven and eight year old girls; dazed parents in tow. Despite our significant age difference from the majority of the audience, we enjoyed a fabulous evening. Ariel was captivating in all of her red-headed gloriousness and vocal range. Heck, we even thought Ursula was good. The sets, the costumes, the familiar Disney songs-- what wasn't to like? By the time the curtain fell, and the audience was on its feet for a standing ovation, I was beginning to consider the use I could get out of an Ariel starfish purse. But, we must draw the line somewhere, mustn't we?

Tragically, not one of us thought to bring a camera to document our delightful evening in the city. Trust me, reader, we had fun. Fun despite the drizzly weather, and gloomy afternoon. Next time we'll remember those cameras. And, Sebastian's autograph, too.

Speaking of beautiful, captiavting redheads (who can sing!), look at this one. Dat girl is gorgeous.
