Yesterday, on a bright, beautiful October Saturday, some girlfriends and I rented a car and drove out of the Manhattan metropolis, and into the northern New York countryside. We arrived at
Hurd's Family Farm in the early afternoon. The sun was shining; the sky was blue... and we set off on our apple picking adventure! For several hours, we scoured the rows at the farm, picking and eating so many incredible varieties of apples...
Gala,
and Rome,
and Golden Delicious,
and Jonamac,
and Red Delicious.

As evening descended on the countryside, we trudged back to the Hurd's family barn where we enjoyed some warm mulled cider. Our spirits were content, and our stomachs (more than) full. A day full of sunshine and good friends ended in the best possible way-- on our couches, curled up with Thai food and a movie.
