Autumn on the East Coast

"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile."

Hot drinks from Starbucks, long jackets, and chilly nights-- yes, autumn has marked out its campground on the East Coast. This weekend my roommates and I traveled home to Maryland for a weekend of fall activities that included Homecoming events, a Navy football game, and dinner in downtown Annapolis. We enjoyed the weekend of all weekends! Chick-fil-A for lunch (a rarity as we have none in New York), a local parade led by the Boy Scouts of America, and the singing of the Navy Blue and Gold by the best-looking group of co-eds we'd seen in awhile.


Sunday evening found us traveling back to our city of cities-- our dear New York, lovely even in the darkness of an October evening, with the Empire State Building jutting sharply into the sky as we rounded the corner to the Lincoln Tunnel. As far as "welcome home" sightings go, I'd say that's about as good as they get.
