trader joes, whole foods, mothers, sprouts, henrys and the market list goes on.if california has taught me one things, its that natural and colorful is best. especially when it comes to food.
mother use to joke that california was the land of fruits and nuts.
how right she was.
where college might have tempted me with mac n cheese and coke, my eyes gradually redirected me to granola, avocados, humus, edamame, almonds, mango and blackberries.
it wasnt until i was educated that i began to realize what i had been missing out on.
i think its going to be strangely hard for me to eat the over-ripe bananas and slightly green strawberries of the east coast this summer.
i have been literally spoiled rotten with delectable foods.
thank you california for your sunny days that have the perfect balance of calcium and misty rain to nourish your fruits and vegetables until they reach my table.
i shall forever lust after the plump ripeness of your berries, silky skin of your veggies and constantly compare my lot with yours.
you have spoiled my skin and stomach rotten.
and i am forever thankful.
