the house that built me

when i tell people that i live in a house with 7 other girls, the response is usually pity or shock.
i will either receive a pat on the arm with a sympathetic look or disbelief on how i manage all that estrogen in one tiny house.

but really its neither.
dont get me wrong, living in such a boisterous house definitely has its moments. especially since my room is near the front door.
and the alarm keypad.

however, these past 9 months living there have been incredible.

i have become very good at:
booking my bathroom times early in the morning
sleeping with fans and earplugs on
avoiding kitchen cleanup
backing out of a full driveway
making a pot of tea for the girls
locating one of them in some corner of the house
figuring out bills
trying to pay them on time

and as i leave, i will truly miss the experience that this house on cortina has brought. i have learned to live with seven other girls who are completely unique.
in turn, they have had to live with me.

who knew when we started that the end would bring such fond memories?
it wasnt what i expected but it certainly was what i needed.
