For several weeks now I have had the sense of something about to come to an end--that old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air...Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes and failures had been wiped clean by summer.

Autumn is such a time of renewal and changeover. The leaves begin their grand finale of color display, the hummingbirds begin heading southward, and we become involved with more obligations indoors. Our thoughts take us inside when we need to enjoy the outside with all its beauty. Because we know all to quickly this season to, shall pass.
