new beginnings

i was laying in bed reading harry potter this morning when a few musings came to mind.

as of the end of this weekend, i will have exactly 15 days of school left.
i have been in school since i was 5. and it is strange that on may 23rd, 2009, i will no longer be a full time student as my "full-time job".
i will no longer have three months off during the summer to get sunburned and see old friends.
i will no longer have month long christmas breaks to dance in the snow and mope around the house.
i will no longer have midterms, finals, professors, grueling weeks of back to back homework, random hours to take naps, lunches in the caf, long walks across campus and late night talks.

and these musing brought out quite a few different feelings: sadness, for the end of a season, happiness, to finally be done with school and anxiety, about what is going to come next.

as big sister and i have been saying, we believe this is the year of hope.
i am hopeful and dare i say, excited to see what happens after i cross over the threshold from student into adult.
my plans as of now include me returning home for the summer months and then trekking back out to california for the fall.
i do not yet know where i will be working. details, details...
i do however know where i will be living: in a tiny house next to campus with 7 other girls.
does that scream adventure or what?

i think that is just what i am looking for these next few months.
i am looking for...
a chance to discover more about myself
an opportunity to live and learn with my 7 girls
a season of life where i can work wherever i want
reasons to explore southern california more

and
i am looking for a new beginning.

as oprah said (and we all know that oprah says, goes)
"the biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams"
