isnt spring just divine?
almost overnight, the top heavy bedspread comes off, the creaky winter windows open and slowly the daffodils push through the black soil.
sister loves spring.
as in, if she were a forest animal, she would be thumper from bambi, twitterpated and throwing her rabbit feet in the air.
whats that? you havent seen her do that?
well. arent you in for a real treat.
spring transitions from winter quite differently in california. there isnt the same urgency of life bursting forth in every yard. it is much more gradual.
but on the east, as we wait in anticipation for easter, we remember why new life is so extraordinarily significant. and as we count down the days to palm sunday, good friday and easter sunday, we are reminded of how one perfect Lamb surrendered everything and we forever had an opportunity for life abundant.
when we see the buds of new leaves on trees and the array of color from the tulips and take in the deep scent of new grass growing in this spring, let us reflect on the significance of the easter story and the sacrifice of our savior.

Oooooohhhh, I would be Thumper! Too true. Love the photos of the flora and fauna. And your words of poetry! xx
I too live in the DC/VA area and last week began a string of blissful afternoons in the sun. VERY difficult to be bitter on days like this!
