We came as sisters and aunts, and nieces and cousins, and sister-in-laws, and mothers and daughters... and left, as cliche as it must sound, as true, dear, sweet friends. It was due in no small part to the warmth of your beaches, the alluring beauty of your marine waves, the breezes down Ocean Avenue, and the loveliness of your rickety boardwalk.
Thank you for the ice cream, and the fudge (oh, that F U D G E! Heaven help our hips), and the bicycle rides, and coffee shops, and brunches, and shopping, and the fudge (did we already mention the fudge?). Thanks for a place to relax- to kick up our heels, and remember how much we do love all those rascally husbands and fathers and brothers back at home.
We simply adored your shore, and are so glad you couldn't be more different from that dreadful reality show of the same name. The few edgy Guidos we encountered will last us long enough until we are able to visit again.
But, we are wondering, any word from your sister the Eastern Shore? We just hear marvelous things about her.
Warmly,
The Maryland Gals
Now we are all family, as we always should have been.
