today i am most thankful for fall.even though fall often comes late to california, it does indeed still come.
and when it does, what beauty it brings trailing behind it.
i breathe in the ripe red, orange and yellow leaves on the changing trees.
my dreams shift to crisp mornings and scalding drinks and i imagine myself again in high school biding my time until the warm afternoon sun appeared.
the heavy indian summer gives way to those golden moments before the clear winter.
i remember toasty crackling fires with hot shooting sparks as i perch on the stone ledge.
i adore early dark evenings that demand warm blankets and good books.
and i look forward to such as i transition home next week to maryland's autumn shores.
delicious autumn! my very soul is wedded to it, and if i were a bird i would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.
