there is some mileage between southern california and northern maryland.
2664 to be exact.
the sister and i, with quite opposite work schedules, have no choice but to furiously text when ever a free second arises.
we talk about everything from new movies coming out to weekend adventures to those little wonders called boys.
today she told me to write a dummy guide for navigating southern california.
here are my top 5 things to know:
1. avoid freeways at all costs. nothing says beach buzz kill like sitting 2 hours in a car to go 20 miles. i honestly see why people move to cities where the public transportation is rocking.
2. and while the beaches are what is raved about, dont forget about the foothills. dotted with orchards, canyons and an occasional snow fall, these massive beauties enchant me every time i see them looming on the horizon.
3. these is no other place i have ever been that does a creamy avocado better. they are practically the dessert of choice here. and so cheap!
4. everyone talks about the celebrities, but i say its the quirks that make it adventurous. the other day i talked to a homeless man at a stoplight, was almost run off the road by a flirty trucker and had my hair teased by a person covered with tattoos.
5. get to know those beautiful blonde people you see everywhere. surprisingly they are super friendly, always up for an adventure and dont mind letting you borrow their lovely clothes.
oh, sis.
