finally!

i had a most lovely visitor in the form of a brother these past few days in california. and on tuesday, off we went to explore catalina island.
FINALLY!

ever since freshman year when i heard there was a tiny island off the coast of southern california, i have been literally dying to go. with steve in town, there was no excuse not to.
on our trip over dolphin sightings, though frequent, caused quite a frenzy. however it wasnt until the whale spouts came up that the cat express almost capsized.once there we rented a golf cart that we took around the port city of avalon for sightseeing. can we say one gear... one speed... but still tons of fun?

im not going to lie. i got quite a kick out of flying past the slower carts as we came downhill.

catalina turned out to be just as magical as i had dreamed it. brother and i left with sunburns, a camera of film and bags of taffy.

what would an island visit be without them?
