this easter weekend has passed incredibly fast since flying home from california on friday morning.but as i leave tonight i am thankful for these things:
kind cousins who are always glad when we visit
dear friends who come and willingly meet our family
leaves beginning to bloom on maple trees
warm balmy weather in maryland
siblings uniting from all across the east coast
mom endlessly decorating and entertaining
good friday dinner with dad reading scripture
a risen Lord!
matthew 28:5-6 reads: But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
what a promise of a savior.
he who knew no sin, died for those of us drowning in it.
a tomb could not bind him; he conquered death.
heaven will not hold him; he returns to reign.
grace is his most beautiful gift; he offers his perfect blood to cover us as salvation for all.
we have life because he died.
today we celebrate that the tomb was empty!
he is risen!
he is risen indeed!
