If I Were A Childrens' Books Author...

Welcome, children. This is the story of Big Sister and how she spends her days in the Big City.

Big Sister wakes up early every day.
She brushes her teeth.
She combs her hair (sometimes).
She walks outside and passes the flower shop,
and the post office,
and the Jewish nursey school.
And, FINALLY, she reaches the subway.

She rides the subway undrground for over 40 blocks.
SCCCCCCCCCCRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEECCCCHHHHHH.
This is the sound the subway makes when it stops.

Big Sister arrives at her building
and takes the elevator 18 floors up.
She smiles, and opens the door.
"Good morning," she says to the receptionist.
"Good morning," she says to the Boss.
"Good mornings," she says to the large, retarded mail clerk.
Big Sister goes to the kitchen.
She makes herself a VERY hot,
VERY STRONG, cup of coffee.

Big Sister sits in front of a computer for 8 hours.
After 8 hours, when the clock says 5:59pm,
Big Sister looks like this:

At 6:00pm, Big Sister runs, er walks, to the door.
She takes the elevator down 18 floors,
and she rides the subway uptown for over 40 blocks.

Big Sister walks home to her apartment,
and collapses on the couch. It has been a long, busy day.
But, Big Sister is happy. She loves her Big City.
Even on Mondays.

THE END.
